Sara Goldfarb
About me
I am a happy colorful teacher who infuses my classes with knowledge from my degrees in history, anthropology, design, and English. I also have a theatre background and come from a family of educators and artists.
I have been teaching middle school for 12 years now and feel I’m in my Renaissance period of teaching.
I think my students would say that I am energetic, effervescent, and engaged. I have very high expectations, a humorous outlook on life, and can weave a good story. Students might also say I am obsessive about reading, writing, and homework and am like a bounty hunter if they have not handed in said work.
My dream for my students is for them to have the skills and confidence to be all of who they can and want to be. I also have a strong belief in passing on a sense of civic duty and the ability to see others with kind eyes.
My non teaching hours are spent reading, adoring my husband, hiking, painting, traveling, learning Spanish, babying my spoiled cat, gardening, enjoying art, loving my friends and family, cooking, and being very chatty.
I live a charmed life. There is nothing I’d rather be doing than teaching middle school children. They seem vitally important and challenge me every day to be the most of who I can be, so it all seems to come around full circle.
