Jessica Brooks

About me

Jessica earned her BA in Literature from UCSC in 1998 and returned to complete a MA in Education in 2003. After starting her career at Branciforte Middle School, she spent some years teaching in a charter school and could not wait to return to the B40 nest. She has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade core, Publications, and ReadersTheatre. As a teacher consultant for the Central California Writing Project, she thrives on the teaching of writing and encouraging her students to explore language, story telling, and written expression of thoughts and ideas.

When Jessica is not teaching, she enjoys reading fiction while lounging underneath her lemon tree, practicing yoga, dancing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with her partner and their four year old son.
